Meet the creative minds behind Jackson Starfire Candles & Simply Serendipity. Our founders are driven by a shared passion for crafting unique products that inspire and delight.
Billy Wade Jackson
As a founder of Jackson Starfire Candles, my vision is to blend traditional artistry with modern design, offering our customers a touch of elegance and sophistication in every product. As a mechanic for years and then retiring from driving a school bus for 24 years, I have in retirement enjoyed creating special clean-burning soy candles for my family and friends. Rita & I enjoy finding serendipitous treasures; thus, the combination of our pursuits created our little mom & pop business "Simply Serendipity" (because we find all kinds of treasures while out rambling & rummaging in auctions and estate sales) plus "Jackson Starfire Candles" which since 2017, I have thoroughly enjoyed making while piddling in my shop. We hope you will visit our site often, browse, share your story through our messaging, and come back often. If you need re-seasoning a skillet, let me know. I take pleasure in restoring them at a reasonable fee.

After retiring as a teacher since 1994, I enjoy discovering treasures with Billy at estate sales & auctions. Collectibles that were once loved and appreciated by those who've gone before us, we try to preserve for future generations to enjoy. Billy & I enjoy discovering products that not only enrich lives but also reflect our commitment to quality, craftsmanship, healthier choices, and innovation.
In an effort to seek better health, we strive for natural healthy alternatives, such as milling whole grains to bake our own whole grain bread, canning & preserving (a true Southern grassroots tradition), locating grass-fed meats, seeking out wholesome Amish-raised fruits & vegetables, & learning / sharing the art of peptide use as a healthier investment in anti-aging & longevity--these allow us to shy away from chemical prescriptions that often cause more harm than good.

Simple pleasures come from enjoying your mom’s or granny’s flower gardens. Granny would share cuttings or rootings & always said, “Don’t say thank you or it’ll die!”
Absolutely my favorite Billy Jacobs’ print “GRANDMA’s PLACE” because in my mind’s eye it is just like Maw & Papa Sanders’ house that was on Brownsferry Road—. same place I got stuck going up the loft ladder in the barn & couldn’t go neither up nor down! Jimmy had to jump from the loft & go get my Daddy—who was always my HERO!
Tobacco basket for sale, $35. Beside it my daddy brought this transistor am(was no such thing as FM) radio home to Gwen & me when I was 7 or 8. Special memories! The oil painting in the background was a special painting just for me by my sister GwenSanders. She knew I loved the Walton’s TV series & old stores, so here we have Ike Godsey’s store. Our Great Grandpa Huse Rice ran an old store in Lauderdale Co. that we loved to grab an RC from the ice box on the store’s front porch!
